Taxi Driver Vocational Licence

Before joining the taxi trade, you must first acquire a Taxi Driver Vocational Licence (TDVL) issued by the Land Transport Authority (LTA).

Prerequisites:

• Singapore Citizen
• At least 30 years old
• Holds a valid Class 3 Singapore driving licence
• GCE ‘O’ / ‘N’ Level or ‘N’ Level pass in English (at least a D7 grade) or a Level 3 pass in English under the Workplace Literacy (WPL) programme

Procedure:

Complete the Vocational Licence Application Form from LTA 👈

Submit an application to LTA including a non-refundable application fee of SGD$40 via hand (Cash/NETS) or by post (Cheque). The approval process will take about a month. Upon approval by LTA via mail, you will receive a medical form. You are to undergo a complete medical check up with chest x-ray in any clinic in Singapore.

At this stage, you should have the following documentation ready:

• LTA’s approval letter
• Completed medical form with x-ray results
• Documentary proof of pass in English (GCE ‘O’ / ‘N’ Level / WPL-CAT)
• Photocopy of NRIC & driving licence
